I recommend those of you suffering from phobias to read this book and give it a try! I was quite pleased with how much stronger my state of mind seemed to be as I experienced that claustrophobic atmosphere and do feel positive about being in those situations in the future and eventually being totally at ease although I am not saying it will be a walk in the park as I did feel fear but being able to handle it slightly better has made be more optimistic. I practiced breathing deeply and being aware that my mind was feeling fearful whilst in a confined space and I can say that I do think it helped me face that phobia. I am uneasy in confided claustrophobic spaces. Reading about how it is possible to overcome your fears was really exciting for me because I took it to include not just handling feelings of being nervous in situations but also overcoming phobias. Manage fears and release stress are well worth it.

You are like me however, just persevere because the descriptions of how to Really identify with why it’s so important to not let your mind control you. This small book covers so many topics to go on “the journey beyond yourself” – about the voice in your head (yes, you know the one I’m talking about), experiencing inner energy, learning how to keep your heart chakra open, letting go and freeing yourself, dropping the false solidity of the walls we built, the path of unconditional happiness, and so much more. For me personally there were one too manyĮxamples because you get so pumped up reading an explanation for the way youĪre feeling that you are so desperate to get to the solution part so I felt theīook could have been a tad shorter.

This one question can unravel the intricately woven tapestry of thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that make up who we are. Or start with just one question – as Michael Singer quotes Ramana Maharshi – “Who am I?”, “Who is the one who is acting this way?”, “Who is watching from behind the scenes?” every time we notice a rustle of energy that’s trying to get attention in our minds. That it may just be possible :) But I can tell there’s years and lifetimes of wisdom in Michael Singer’s words – his humble, ego-less, simple prose is entirely practical, entirely reachable, one step at a time, if we commit ourselves to ask the questions he asks. There are no big words, no easy promises, but there are big concepts handled gently, clearly, and simply, that I feel even I may be enlightened in an instant. Every word is a pointer to take me one step further on the path to waking my own consciousness. In The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer speaks from the seat of his consciousness – a fully awakened consciousness. It changed me, and continues to change me. It has the same kind of impact on me, as did Eckhart Tolle’s ‘New Earth’ and Byron Katie’s ‘Loving What Is’. This is one of those books that comes along once in a lifetime. Then one day, when you least expect it, you fall through into the infinite. All you have to do is constantly relax and lean into them. You end up loving your edges because they point your way to freedom.
